There are so many misconceptions about the word "design." Some think it's abstract and meaningless. Some think it's outright pretentious. Others don't realize that an object's design is about a whole lot more than just the way it looks. Luckily, we've got Liz Stinson to clear all of that up. Our resident design columnist, the executive editor of the AIGA Eye on Design, and a Wired veteran, Liz is someone who thinks deeply about how material things come to be in the world ?and how they shape us in return.
